Greetings, agents!
This month's mission should be right up most of y'alls' alleys. Even if you're not a writer, it still should be fun.
The mission:
I have three different prompt sets here, courtesy of the wonderful Agent Perspicacious Eagle.
You, agent, shall choose one set and write a short story or scene, including every element of the prompt.
Then post the outcome on your blog or newsletter, if you have one. Otherwise, email it to neverstoptherain@yahoo.com, and it shall be included in a post later this month. (The deadline for it to be included in said post is May 25).
Without further ado: the prompts.
Set One:
Top hats
Curly hair
Jacket
Hidden
Friends
Broken
Dance
Excitement
Help
“Hello, ma’am, I am—” “My brother? Yeah, I know.” “You didn’t let me finish!”
“Why are your hands purple?”
“Oh, just stop.”
And must mention a hose.
Set Two:
Sunglasses
Earpiece
Bluebird
Sweaters
Red lipstick
Mirror
Shadows
Rain
Separated
“Help!” “Why? It’s just a poodle.” “It’s the poodle of doom!!!”
“I wasn’t the one who suggested doing THIS!!”
“Well, if you had woken up properly the first time I had kicked you, I wouldn’t have had to do it four more times!”
And must mention toast.
Set Three:
Fear
Siblings
Laughter
Horn
Blue
Knife
Beanbag
Grape
Throne
“Small fire! I said set a small fire! This is not small!”
“Go!” “No!”
“When I asked for a coffee… I did not mean this.”
And must mention an elevator.
You can certainly use multiple prompts, but only one, with a maximum of 500 words, will be included in the Story Sayers post at the end of the month.
If you have an questions, comment below, or email the ISA at the address that can be found at the bottom of this page.
Have fun. 😎
